Welcome to the HBS Club of Nigeria

From the President...

The Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria HBSAN is the official alumni  group of Nigerians and resident non-Nigerians of Harvard Business School (HBS). The association   aims to promote best management practices and ethical standards in corporate and business practices as also defined and supported by our alma mater, HBS.
Also, in our profound desire to engender a conducive business environment and advance high corporate standards in Nigeria, we have from inception, designed programs and activities to depict our continued commitment to the above mentioned standards and values as espoused by Harvard Business School.

Programs like, The Federal Government of Nigeria’s Budget Preview and  Review, The General Managers Workshop, The Sharing Experience Event Series, The Akintola Williams Lecture Series on Ethics in Business and Public Service etc. have all in their peculiar way, addressed the attendant Nigerian corporate, socio-economic and ethical issues and also projected us as a group that stands for proper business conduct.

Similarly, we are extremely proud to say that our past actions and efforts, led to the birth of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), during the tenure of the then head of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, CBE, GCFR.  Today, the group has evolved into an integral part of Nigeria’s business and economic planning and decision making group, with membership drawn from Nigerian corporations, Captains of industry, Multinationals operating in Nigeria, NGO’s, Government Parastatals and Civil Society Groups.

It is our desire to surpass these achievements and advance in leaps and bounds with our primary objectives. Our commitment to the standards of our alma mater and also the Nigerian economy is encompassing. We draw experiences, as we also share, from other HBS alumni clubs outside of Nigeria, thus keeping our country organization at the forefront of global issues and its relevance to our community of professionals and government.

The association is however, only as successful as the commitment of time and resource of the members, and as such, I continue to enjoin members to dedicate time and resources to HBSAN.  I also enjoin non-members to come along and participate in HBSAN network of professionals and also take advantage of our frequent periodic events, including lectures and conferences.

You are all welcome on board!!!

Thank you.

Dr. (Mrs.) Nike Akande; OON
